To create this strain, we used our classic Dutch AK47 BCN Selection mother, a feminized genetic known for its exceptional resilience, open growth structure, large internodal spacing, enormous yield potential, and overall potency. We crossed it with our elite autoflowering male, used in other hybridisation projects, to create the feminized offspring. The result is a solid-performing automatic, which does not depend on a specific photoperiod and can be grown indoors or outdoors with impressive results. We managed to enhance all the most desirable characteristics of both parents, including a prolific resin, cannabinoid, and terpene profile. AK420 Auto has been stabilised and will produce only feminized autoflowering plants.

One of the unique properties of AK420 Auto, in addition to its impressive 35% total cannabinoids, is its terpene profile. Our laboratory tests revealed that it is rich in Caryophyllene and Limonene. This is why, when smelling the live plant, AK420 Auto will have a sharp, eye-watering citrus and lemon aroma, with pungent and fuel undertones. Once dried and cured, the terpene profile becomes much fruitier and more citrusy, with herbal, floral, and pine notes.

When smoked, the inhale flavour can be described as smooth, herbal, and pine, with a sweet lemon tang. On the exhale, the flavour becomes spicier and sweeter, with strong citrus undertones. AK420 Auto has the potential to become a very large plant that will require space to grow. It is one of the most productive automatics on the market, perfect for commercial-scale growers looking for large harvests in a short amount of time. Plants grow tall and bushy, with a large number of side branches that become filled with dense, resinous, bright green flowers. Its growth structure will display Sativa dominance, and when ready for harvest, AK420 Auto will produce an enormous central main cola, surrounded by densely packed side branches. The abundance of sugar-coated leaves gives the plant a shimmering appearance. The flowers, once manicured, have a beautiful look and incredible visual appeal. AK420 Auto seeds are suitable for first-time growers, as they take about 13 weeks from seed to harvest, both indoors and outdoors. They will grow in a vegetative state for the first 3-4 weeks before automatically flowering, needing 9 to 10 weeks of flowering. This means that in hot climates like the Mediterranean or California, you can have perpetual harvests throughout the year.

Indoor Cultivation

Indoors, AK420 Auto is a monstrous plant that will deliver gigantic yields of high-quality flowers. We recommend growing these seeds under 18-20 hours of light for the best results. Once flowering begins at the end of week 4, plants will need 9 to 10 weeks to produce their sticky, terpene-rich flowers. It does not like excessive nutrients and will perform exceptionally well when planted in an organic growing medium with endomycorrhizal fungi and beneficial bacteria. Under HID lights, it can get huge in a short time, with some heavier phenotypes requiring stakes to support the weight of the flowers in the final weeks. It is advisable to give these automatics plenty of vertical space; for small spaces, training techniques like tie-downs can be used to reduce stretch and final height.

Outdoor Cultivation

Outdoors, seeds can be planted from March until October in warm climates. In more challenging climates, such as Northern Europe, they can be planted from May to September. Plants will need a full 13 weeks before they are ready. Due to their large and robust structure, expect them to be resistant to strong winds, heat stress, cold night temperatures, mould, powdery mildew, insects, and diseases. Plants can grow very large, reaching a final height of 120 cm to 150 cm, and work incredibly well in a Sea of Green (SOG) setup.

Greenhouses

Thanks to its high resilience to mould and powdery mildew, greenhouse growers will find AK420 Auto a solid performer, even under the most intense heat and humidity. This makes it suitable for hot climates and for anyone facing challenging weather conditions and needing peace of mind. It also tolerates cold well and temperature drops.

Nutrient and Watering Tips

Autoflowering plants need a high level of available Nitrogen in the first 4 weeks, and then a Phosphorus (P) and Potassium (K) dominant nutrient solution from week 4 onwards. During flowering, it is best to cut Nitrogen levels and focus on P and K. Bat guano can be an excellent organic nutrient for automatics. Water lightly and frequently in the first 3-4 weeks. After that, we recommend watering only when the pots are completely dry. The wet and dry balance will encourage roots to expand. This strain prefers a lower E.C. (electroconductivity) level, meaning fewer nutrients.

1. Space is key: Provide plenty of space for plants to grow, both in height (at least 150 cm) and width, as it will express its Sativa dominance.
2. Direct to final pot: Automatics prefer to start directly in a large pot (e.g., 19 litres). Avoid transplanting to prevent stressing the plant.
3. Go easy on nutrients: Despite its size, it doesn't like a large amount of nutrients. It is better to feed it less frequently than other plants.
4. Ideal indoor light: Provide 18-20 hours of HID light for the best yields. We found that 18 hours of light and 6 of darkness produce the best plants.
5. Provide support: Use bamboo stakes or a trellis net to support the long side branches, preventing them from falling over due to the weight of the flowers, especially in the last 21 days.
6. Make extractions: The abundance of resinous leaves (sugar trim) makes hash production (water hash and dry sift) very rewarding. Don't waste anything with trichomes!
7. Aerated substrate: Ensure the growing medium is light and full of air pockets. Use a substrate with a high perlite ratio for the best root development.
