Looking for collectible seeds for outdoor cultivation, either directly in the soil or in pots? Big Yeti© Feminized is your ideal choice! This is a new feminized photoperiodic variety (not autoflowering), specially developed for outdoor cultivation. The Seedstockers breeding team in the Netherlands dedicated 4 years to this project, selecting the most resistant collectible plants to rain, mould and pests. The entire process was carried out near the coast, completely adapting this genetic to conditions of high humidity, short summers and the strong winds of the North Sea.

This strain was bred from varieties proven effective for outdoor cultivation. Big Yeti© is perfectly suited for climates such as those in the Netherlands, the UK, Germany, Scandinavia, northern North America and Patagonia, but also adapts well to high humidity tropical climates and mountainous areas with plenty of rain and low temperatures.

The female line is a special variety from the 90s, a version of Early Durban from Flying Dutchmen Seeds, used for generations by local growers in the North Holland region. For the male line, a selection of Sour Diesel from upstate New York was used, grown since the early 90s in a humid climate with short summers, similar to the Dutch. After an intense pheno hunt, the best Early Durban female was crossed with the best Sour Diesel male. The offspring were backcrossed for 3 generations, always exposing the plants to the severe Dutch coastal conditions.

The result is Big Yeti©, a beautiful outdoor Sativa-dominant strain. The flavour sails through the sweet and sour spectrum, with notes reminiscent of tamarind and citrus fruits. The effect is active and energising, typical of good Sativas. With an average THC level, ranging from 14% to 22%, it provides a potent but controllable experience.

Ideal for the garden, in large pots or directly in the soil, Big Yeti© feels completely at home in “difficult” climates, demonstrating high resistance to mould and pests during its 8-week flowering period. In the vegetative phase, small seedlings can turn into true monsters, reaching up to 5 metres in height when grown in large volumes of soil or in open ground.

This Sativa develops long and thick buds, with a sufficiently “open” structure to prevent moisture accumulation and the onset of mould. If well cared for, you can expect massive yields in autumn.

Cultivation Limitations

It is fundamental to understand the limitations of this variety. These wild monsters do not do well in indoor cultivation or even in greenhouses. If you insist on growing it in a greenhouse, keep it in a relatively small pot to control its size; otherwise, there is a risk of it literally growing through the roof. Because it was developed for outdoor, it is considered a beginner strain in that environment, thanks to its robustness and resilience.

Outdoor Cultivation Tips

• Germination: Start in the safest way, placing the seeds between two damp cotton pads inside a container or sealed bag.
• Transplanting: Only move the plant to its final location in the garden after all risk of frost has passed, including night frosts.
• Protection: Protect young plants from pests such as slugs and caterpillars. A clear plastic cover over the plant can be a good initial solution.
• Watering: It is important to have water and nutrients available, but the soil also needs to dry out a little. Check the soil moisture daily with your fingers, a few centimetres deep. If it's dry, water thoroughly, especially on hot, sunny days.
