About this strain

Bruce Banner may be known as the alter ego of the Incredible Hulk's protagonist, but here we are talking about a collectible strain that shares the same name, and that Bruce Banner himself could use to avoid turning into a pit of rage and stress. The autoflowering format of this green monster, however, will not set your adrenaline racing. Instead, it provides an incredible cerebral effect that can lead to long-lasting bodily relaxation, capable of taking you to the calmer and gentler side of the Hulk himself. The feminized version of Bruce Banner from Seedstockers is a large, green, and resilient plant; and Bruce Banner Auto exhibits many of these same attributes, but in a compact format. This strain develops into a plant that maintains a truly sweet and delicate flavour and aroma, similar to red fruits and sweets, capable of satisfying even the most demanding palates. In fact, it has become one of the most renowned autoflowering strains on the US West Coast thanks to the careful balance between its boundless potency and its smooth organoleptic palette, which was definitely designed to impress. And all this spiced up with an XL yield capacity that results, in just 11 weeks, in a monstrous size for an auto. This is one of the new generation’s first-class genetics that you can now find in the Seedstockers autoflowering catalogue.

Genetics and Origin of Bruce Banner Auto

Classified as a slightly Sativa-dominant hybrid, Bruce Banner Auto results from the cross of Strawberry Diesel with OG Kush, the resulting strain of which was then crossed with Sour Diesel Auto to give it its autoflowering character. OG Kush began its legendary journey in Florida in the early 90s, when it was created from the cross of a Northern California strain with a Hindu Kush from Amsterdam. This resulted in a complex and powerful strain that gave rise to many of this century's best-known hybrids. On the other hand, Strawberry Diesel is a hybrid derived from the cross of NYC Diesel with Strawberry Cough, resulting in a strain that offers a balanced experience of energising and mentally clear sensations.

Thanks to these five-star parents, Bruce Banner has become a powerful strain with a reputation as big as its comic book namesake. We can say that it is one of the genetics responsible for the great evolution of collectible seeds in recent years. Therefore, this autoflowering version was a must-have for the Seedstockers catalogue to complete our collection of US genetics, which is, without a doubt, the cornerstone of the current cannabis movement. All thanks to highly potent strains with distinct flavours, easy to grow, and which have already captivated thousands of growers worldwide. Now, Seedstockers makes it even easier for you to discover their benefits directly from one of their true icons: Bruce Banner Auto.

Morphology and Appearance of Bruce Banner Auto

Bruce Banner Auto grows as a dense and compact plant, with relatively large fan leaves and thin leaflets sprouting everywhere. Its main cola can easily exceed 1 meter in height, surrounded by several lateral branches that provide good posture and stability to the plant.

However, the moment of truth arrives with the appearance of its large, compact buds, when you can clearly see its connection to the comic book superhero. Embellished with a variety of bright and powerful green tones, Bruce Banner Auto has a healthy and vibrant appearance, with copper-orange pistils that curl and twist around the trichomes. This creates an incredible contrast with the resin-laden sugar leaves, which produce a layer so thick it makes the buds look snow-white. The fan leaves stretch outwards with an even darker and fuller shade of green, giving this strain many nuances of the Hulk's skin colour.

Aroma and Flavour

This pedigree autoflower offers an aromatic profile that leaves its mark as soon as the buds come out of the jar. With OG Kush and Strawberry Diesel running through its veins, Bruce Banner Auto exhibits a strong Diesel aroma with floral and fruity nuances, which most users find a beautiful combination of sweet and Kush tones. This is an incredible strain for those looking for exceptional aromas that will surprise even the most experienced terpene hunters. The three most common terpenes in Bruce Banner Auto are limonene, linalool, and caryophyllene; the latter makes up the largest proportion of its meticulous aromatic profile.

The flavour of Bruce Banner Auto is reminiscent of a sweet caramel fused with many fruity, juicy, and earthy tones, which taste like freshly picked strawberries on a warm summer day. Your taste buds will also perceive small hints of wild berries and floral notes, making you feel as if you are among experts in the midst of a truly special smoking experience. The quality of the smoke itself is also exceptional: dense, yet smooth on the throat, making each puff a truly comforting experience. This is a strain that never ceases to amaze with its impressive combination of Californian flavours, yet with fewer citrus terpenes and a truly distinct sweetness.

Effects of Bruce Banner Auto

Psychoactive Effect

According to our laboratory tests, Bruce Banner Auto buds can easily reach a cannabinoid content of 20-26%. Remember that the exact THC content may vary depending on the phenotype, but something that is guaranteed is the super powerful wave this beast produces. So, if you are a newbie to the world of collectible superheroes, it's best to take it easy!

Bruce Banner Auto is mentally stimulating, but also provides a long-lasting feeling of physical relaxation. This is a great combination for those who need to get rid of some physical pain, but need to remain alert, sharp, and focused at the same time. The effects come on quickly and strongly before slowly merging into a feeling of total relaxation that still maintains that euphoric experience floating throughout the body.

Bruce Banner Auto will also boost your brain into creativity, with masses of introspective thoughts, while you experience happiness and good vibes that effortlessly lift your mood. You will feel your stress dissipate, and all fury will be replaced by a peaceful breeze that leaves you more alert than tired.

Medicinal Effects

Thanks to its useful analgesic effects, this is a strain used by many to treat anxiety, as well as to alleviate symptoms associated with various pathologies, from migraines to arthritis. Due to its ability to numb the body, the state of relaxation it produces can replace all accumulated physical stress and tension, providing great relief. Mental health patients suffering from sadness or depression can also find a powerful tool in this medicinal collectible strain.

It is worth noting that edibles, concentrates, hashish, and extracts are consumption methods that contain above-average doses of THC. Therefore, we recommend caution when using these products for therapeutic purposes, due to the high risk of intoxication involved.

Growing Guide

Bruce Banner Auto develops into plants with a vegetative period of 3 to 4 weeks, flowering with unusual beauty and becoming a truly spectacular sight as they complete their flowering cycle, which can last from 7 to 9 additional weeks. As the plants mature, the leaves can take on rich hues, ranging from deep red to purple, creating a vivid display over the bright green buds and deep brown trichomes. Bruce Banner Auto generally offers larger than average yields for an auto, making it an excellent choice for experienced growers looking for an exotic, high-yielding strain; or for those who want to make the most of their small balcony or terrace.

Indoor

Like most Sativa-dominant hybrids, Bruce Banner's leaves stretch outwards and upwards, supported by a thick stem that creates a productive structure with densely clustered buds. The internodes are wide enough to ensure that light reaches all flowering shoots and that air circulates through the flowers, preventing the appearance of mould, fungi, or underdeveloped buds.

This plant grows with the typical vigour of Sativa varieties. It stretches upwards with plenty of energy for an autoflower, even after its vegetative cycle. Therefore, it is crucial to have enough space to accommodate it, as it can easily double in size during flowering, and even reach heights of 110-150 cm when grown under optimal conditions.

When grown indoors, Bruce Banner Auto needs 18 to 22 hours of light to reach its full potential, easily producing up to 140 grams per plant. The pot size will determine its overall performance, although this plant also performs well in small pots. Seeds should be planted directly into the location used for the entire life cycle to avoid transplant shock. This way, the plants will grow strong and healthy, provided that feeding is regulated according to the different growth phases.

Outdoor

Due to its high resistance to mould, pests, and diseases, Bruce Banner Auto is quite easy to grow and practically maintenance-free. Although you can grow this strain outdoors in a wide variety of environments, you will need warm, dry weather conditions to get the most out of it. Long summer days are its favourites, and that's when it performs best. Therefore, the ideal outdoor sowing window is 3 to 5 weeks before the summer solstice, which helps take full advantage of solar radiation. The higher intensity of UV rays during the weeks following the solstice is perfect for maximising resin production.

However, while summer is the best time of year to grow autoflowers, it all depends on where you live. Regions with Atlantic or continental climates are less sunny, with shorter summers, so generally you can only get one harvest. In Mediterranean regions, in contrast, you can sow your first crop between mid-April and early May, when the cold has passed, and then harvest in late June. This means you can plant again in early August, and you'll be harvesting your second crop in October.

Nutrition and Feeding

A highly aerated substrate and drier conditions are recommended throughout the plant's life cycle. Overwatering is the biggest mistake you can make, so it's best to water in small amounts at regular and frequent intervals. As for the feeding regime, this is a “hungry” strain that can withstand high nutrient levels. However, as with all autos, it's best to exercise a certain degree of restraint when dealing with nutrients, because it's always easier to correct a deficiency than to deal with over-fertilisation, which can inevitably harm plant development.

If you plan to grow your plant in a pot or in the ground, we recommend starting with fertilisers with above-average levels of nitrogen and Cal-Mag (calcium and magnesium). Later, you will need to use phosphorus-rich nutrients for the flowering phase. If growing outdoors, applying a foliar spray of compost tea to the leaves is always a good idea to prevent powdery mildew.

Growing Tips to Maximise Your Yield

Overall, Bruce Banner Auto is considered easy to grow, as it is naturally very resistant to diseases and variations in temperature and humidity. Therefore, it is ideal for those growers who are not looking for ideal growing conditions. However, this does not mean that this strain does not need any care or attention. Fortunately, here are some tips to help you grow a strong and healthy plant with the best possible yield capacity:

  • Tip #1: Use an optimised growing method Due to its OG Kush genetics, Bruce Banner Auto develops as a short, compact plant, making it the perfect candidate for SOG (Sea of Green). This training technique is ideal for collectible strains with naturally longer vegetative phases, as their flowering can be induced earlier so you can harvest much faster than if you simply let nature take its course. It is a great method for clones and autoflowers, and can also be useful when space is limited. Although the yield of a single plant may be smaller, the more efficient use of space allows more plants to be grown in a smaller area, thus increasing overall yield.

  • Tip #2: Monitor pH levels Bruce Banner Auto grows optimally in a pH range of 6.2 - 6.8 (vegetative phase) and 6.5 - 7.0 (flowering phase) when grown in substrate; and 5.8 - 6.2 (vegetative) and 5.5 – 6.5 (flowering) when grown hydroponically. You can, of course, get good results even with slightly lower or higher pH measurements.

  • Tip #3: Ensure the ideal temperature Bruce Banner Auto can be grown both indoors and outdoors, but its yield capacity will change considerably depending on the cultivation technique used. If you plan to grow in an indoor grow tent, using an air-cooled lamp will help maintain temperature and humidity levels within their ideal ranges.

    • Bruce Banner grows best at temperatures between 23°C and 28°C during the vegetative period, and between 22°C and 26°C during the flowering phase. But, again, small variations on either side of these ranges definitely will not kill the plants.
    • However, although Bruce Banner Auto can withstand colder temperatures than most, it is crucial to maintain these temperature levels to achieve the best result. If planting outdoors, it is best to find a dry area that can be protected from late summer rains to prevent the appearance of mould.
  • Tip #4: What type of lighting should I use indoors? Although Bruce Banner Auto grows easily under any type of HID (High-Intensity Discharge) lamp, LED lights are the most efficient light source for converting electricity into the light energy that collectible plants use to perform photosynthesis. Both LED lights and T5 fluorescent tubes are really effective with SOG. To ensure that all buds receive enough light, you need to keep your LED or T5 light as close as possible to the plants, but at a safe distance so that they do not overheat.

  • Tip #5: Flush the roots at the end If you want your buds to taste amazing, you need to water without nutrients while flushing the roots of the plants for approximately one week before harvest. You need to use more water than usual until you see water draining out of the pot's drainage holes. With this process, you will eliminate all the nutrients from the growing medium that accumulate in the roots. Your buds will certainly thank you!
