About this strain
Seedstockers are proud to present Super Skunk Auto. We crossed Super Skunk with our BCN Critical XXL Auto and the rest is history. We created an old-school Skunk project that is a fast-flowering automatic, that is not reliant on typical light cycles. Super Skunk Auto has an extremely high resilience to pathogens, heat stress, and colder climates, making her an excellent addition for any outdoor garden.
She is easy to grow, requires minimal maintenance and care, and will produce high-grade Skunk plants that are reminiscent of the 1990’s era, when Skunk was so popular and highly desired amongst the Amsterdam coffeeshops.
Not only does Super Skunk Auto stay discreet, she is a great plant for anyone seeking a stealth grow and an auto that can flower from seed to harvest between 9-12 weeks, depending on the climate. We highly recommend this autoflowering strain to beginner growers as well as old-school connoisseurs who want a trip down memory lane.

What is the origin of Super Skunk Autoflower?
The Skunk lineage dates back to the 1980’s, when she was recorded as the first hybrid created using pure landrace varieties. Bred by a small circle of breeders originating from the Bay Area in San Francisco, with the most famous being Sam The Skunkman, named so because of the pungent terpenes produced by his offspring of the Skunk project, that reminded people of the animal’s (skunk) smell.
It was a group of 6 breeders led by Sam The Skunkman, consisting of Mendocino Joe, Maple Leaf Wilson, and 3 others. The team were aiming to stabilise these new F1 hybrids they had been working on under the Sacred Seeds seed bank.
Skunk #1 was created using a Columbian Gold and an Afghan male. By crossing a landrace sativa and indica, true hybrid vigour was achieved, which gave birth to many of today’s modern hybrids and breeding blocks. Skunk #1 was the first plant that produced stable, uniform, and homogenous offspring, with a great selection of various phenotypes that ranged from short flowering, indica dominant through to longer flowering Haze phenotypes.
The Original Breeding Blocks
As the breeding scene in Holland and the USA gained momentum, genetics were passed between different circles and some made their way across the ocean to Holland and vice versa.
When Skunk#1 became available in seed and flower form, she quickly became the foundation for most of the pioneering breeders to use in breeding projects. Thanks to the meticulous work carried out by Sam and the Sacred Seeds team, we can now enjoy such first-generation hybrids that offer the grower stability, phenotypic expression, and hybrid vigour.
The Problem With Road Kill Skunk
You may have heard stories of the original Road Kill Skunk phenotype and how it had such a pungent and aggressive aroma that anyone in the vicinity knew you had that plant. As this was a time when indoor growing was less advanced and pre-carbon filters, growing such an outrageous and aromatic plant as Road Kill Skunk would only attract unwanted attention and lead to heavy prison penalties if convicted.
UK Cheese proved to be a Skunk phenotype, and if you have ever grown or smoked Cheese, you can testify to her attention-grabbing aroma. This was also a time when indoor and outdoor growers had to adapt, and ultimately chose to work with Skunk phenotypes that did not have that police-telling smell, but were more fruity, floral, and citrus. This gave birth to new phenotypes and flavours such as Lemon Skunk, Orange Skunk, Afghan Skunk, Shiva Skunk, Skunk Haze and other phenotypes or hybrids.
What do Super Skunk Auto plants look like?
Seedstockers Super Skunk Auto will produce short and stocky plants, with a short internodal spacing and an indica dominance and growth structure. Once flowering begins from week 4, you can expect plants to grow to 80-100 cm in height with thin stems and a central main cola. When fully mature, Super Skunk Auto will be full of small buds that have a fluffy appearance and structure, with a prolific amount of resin appearing on all of the surrounding leaves.
What do Super Skunk Autoflower flowers look like?
Super Skunk Auto flowers have a fluffy appearance, are very resinous and have an oily quality to the touch. The buds are wrapped in thick orange hairs with densely packed trichomes. Whilst growing on the plants, Super Skunk Auto buds have a high calyx to leaf ratio, making her easy to trim and a great producer of fresh frozen or dry sift hash.
What do Super Skunk Autoflower buds smell like?
Seedstockers Super Skunk Auto has been tested and found to be high in the terpenes Caryophyllene, found in clove and cinnamon, and Myrcene, found in peach and mango. The aroma of a dried bud will have a classic old-school earthy Skunk smell, with notes of citrus and lemon.
Super Skunk Auto: a legendary flavour
Legends never die, and one of the best things about Seedstockers Super Skunk Auto is her complex old-school flavour. Upon lighting a pure joint or pipe of Super Skunk Auto, the flavour will coat your tastebuds as you experience smooth earthy tones that blend into a citrus aftertaste on the exhale.
What is the psychoactive effect of Super Skunk Autoflower?
The effects of Seedstockers Super Skunk Auto are instant and will keep you high for hours on end. Users will feel focused, clear-headed, uplifted, euphoric, and highly motivated. We highly recommend this strain to musicians, artists, writers, gamers, and anyone with a creative side.
An excellent daytime smoke, that will keep you focused throughout the day, allowing busy individuals to complete a long to-do list. There are no side effects of tiredness or demotivation, and with lab tests revealing 20% total cannabinoids and 14% THCA, Super Skunk Auto is ideal for low tolerance smokers who do not want an excessively strong collectible seeds.
Medicinal Effects: uplifting your mood
Super Skunk Auto has the ability to uplift mood and alleviate feelings of depression. A great strain for increasing clarity and focus, making her a smart choice for medical patients suffering from nausea and dizziness. She will bring your appetite to another level, especially the craving for sweets, so for anyone who suffers from a loss of appetite due to chemotherapy, Seedstockers Super Skunk Auto can help offer relief.
What is the yield of Super Skunk Autoflower?
When it comes to production, Super Skunk Auto may be a small size plant, however, she will produce between 60-75 grams per plant under the right circumstances. It is possible to produce yields of up to 350 grams per square metre when grown in a Sea of Green setup. We recommend growing a large volume of plants close to each other for the best results.
What is the life cycle of Super Skunk Autoflower?
All autoflowering plants will have a vegetative period where they produce foliage and stems, and a flowering period where buds grow. Unlike photoperiod varieties that require an 18/6 light regime during the vegetative stage and then flower with 12 hours of darkness (12/12), Seedstockers Super Skunk Auto will grow and flower under any lighting regime.
The life cycle is only 9-11 weeks from planting, meaning that it is possible to grow Super Skunk Auto continually outdoors in multiple seasons. 3 weeks of this period will be vegetative and the other 6-8 weeks will be the flowering period.
How to grow Super Skunk Auto seeds?
Super Skunk Auto seeds virtually grow themselves and will produce excellent results even for a first-time grower. We recommend planting directly into large pots, with an organic growing medium and nutrients. Thanks to her low maintenance and easy-to-grow nature, she can be planted close in a Sea of Green and can be fed a smaller amount of nutrients than normal. These auto seeds can be grown on a sunny balcony or terrace and will not be affected by street lighting.
Indoor Grow
Super Skunk Auto thrives under HID lighting indoors, and we advise giving plants 18-20 hours of light per day, with a relative humidity level close to 60% for the vegetative stage and close to 40% during flowering. The ambient temperature of the grow room should be 24 degrees Celsius, with the lights-off temperature around 18 degrees Celsius.
It is a good idea to start her in large plastic or fabric pots, and allow the root zone to expand and fill out the pots in preparation for flower production.
Once flowering begins, you will notice that Super Skunk Auto does not stretch much, with a final height around 80-100 cm. Depending on the phenotype and plant size, the flowering time can take between 45-63 days before plants are ready to harvest.
Outdoor Grow
The most important thing when it comes to growing Super Skunk Auto outdoors is to provide plenty of sun and keep plants in a south-facing position. You should avoid transplanting and allow seedlings to be rooted directly into large fabric pots of around 25 litres, or into organic beds filled with soil and compost. As far as feeding goes, Super Skunk Auto does not like many nutrients and is sensitive to high E.C. levels.
During the first 21 days, plants will remain low, and it is very important to allow the roots to grow and fill as much of the pots as possible. Flowering time outdoors, depending on climate and plant size, will range between 6-8 weeks. We highly recommend planting outdoors during the months of July to September if you are in cold climates, and those who live in California or the Mediterranean can afford to grow from March to October.
8 tips for getting the best quality buds
Planting germinated seeds directly into large pots will produce the largest size plants and the biggest potential harvests. Our tip here is to use felt pots, as they allow the plant roots to grow outwards and air prune themselves. This basically means that instead of becoming root bound as seen with a typical plastic pot, the roots will simply turn around and grow the other way.
Keeping your autoflowering plants in a south-facing location will allow Super Skunk Auto plants to receive the most direct sunlight before nightfall. Our tip here is to find a spot in your garden, terrace or balcony where plants can enjoy the most sun and avoid moving your pots. Moving heavy pots, chasing the sun, can be hard and time-consuming work.
Overwatering your plants can inhibit root growth and cause plants to stunt and produce very few flowers. Our tip here is when watering your pots, check to see the medium is as dry as possible before applying water or nutrient solution. Less is more, and the more oxygen the roots are exposed to, the more they will seek out new space.
We have found that Super Skunk Auto seeds do not like high levels of nutrient solution. Our top tip here is to only feed half the strength of nutrient solution and allow plenty of time for a full 14-day flush when using organic or chemical liquid fertilisers. If using chemical nutrients, be sure to check E.C. levels with a meter pen.
Training collectible seeds plants can have many benefits, ranging from increasing yields to allowing more direct light to enter the canopy. Our tip here is not to apply any training to Super Skunk Auto and allow them to grow on their own, as some training techniques can be counterproductive and cause stress. Avoid techniques such as super cropping, topping, and tying down when plants are growing.
If you want to grow superb-tasting collectible seeds for your personal stash, then flushing your growing medium for the last 14 days is essential. The way flushing works is to give only pure water and cut out all nutrients. The reasons for doing this are to break down and wash out any undissolved salts and allow the plants to use their internal reserves. Our tip here is to always flush your plants, otherwise, your flower will not be as pleasant to smoke.
Botrytis is an airborne pathogen that attacks flowering collectible seeds plants and in many cases, moulds from the inside out. The main cause of bud rot and a severe case of mould is a lack of airflow and fresh air around the buds. Our tip here is not to let buds become wet or damp outdoors and ensure there is plenty of fresh air circulating around the pots and on top of the plants. Indoors, it is essential to keep multiple oscillating fans providing a consistent fresh airflow and ensure relative humidity does not pass 40% during flower production.
If you have chosen to grow your Super Skunk Auto seeds in soil and compost, then it is a good idea to inoculate the medium with beneficial bacteria, microorganisms, and fungi. You can simply buy these from your local grow shop, and once you have inoculated the roots, the plants will form a symbiotic relationship with the roots and the surrounding soil food web. Mycorrhizal fungi not only increase yields but also boost nutrient uptake and soil food web availability.
